Product Details
Gelatin Coating Solution is a specially developed coating solution for optimal attachment and growth of immortalized endothelial cells CI-huVEC (INS-CI-1002), CI-huMEC (INS-CI-1008), CI-muMEC (INS-CI-1004).
Gelatin Coating Solution is provided as 0.1% (w/v) Type-B Gelatin ready-to-use in water.
Gelatin consists of a varied composition of water-soluble proteins with high molecular weights, originating from collagen. These proteins are obtained by boiling the appropriate sources such as skin, tendons, ligaments, and bones in water. Type A gelatin comes from tissue treated with acid, while Type B gelatin is sourced from tissue treated with lime.
Gelatin coating solution in in vitro cell culture provides a biocompatible surface enhancing cell adhesion and growth. It’s used to improve cell attachment for various cell types, facilitating more natural behavior and interactions in culture, which is crucial for studying cellular processes, drug screening, and tissue engineering.
Store the products as follows if not indicated otherwise on the product label.
Coating Solution: at 4 to 8°C
Coated cell culture vessels: sealed at 4 to 8°C
Please see the product label for the expiry date of your product.
To prepare coated cell culture surfaces:
- Cover the cell culture vessel with Gelatin Coating (see info below for recommended volumes). Rock back and forth to cover entire surface if necessary.
- Incubate for at least 2h at 37°C in the incubator or overnight at 2–8°C.
- Aspirate Gelatin Coating Solution.
- Wash once with at least 4 volumes of sterile PBS.
- Aspirate PBS.
Use immediately or store coated cell culture plastic according to instructions provided under „Storage“.
