muINTEPI Medium is a specially developed epithelial growth medium for the in vitro culture of our immortalized murine fetal intestinal epithelial cells CI-muINTEPI (INS-CI-1007).
It is designed for use in an incubator at 37° C with a 5% CO2 atmosphere.
This Medium is provided as a kit consisting of Basal Medium and Supplement Mix in separate sterile packing, which need to be combined to obtain the complete, ready-to-use medium.
Intestinal epithelial cells form the single layer of epithelium that lines both, the small and large intestine. They play vital roles in digestion, nutrient absorption, and barrier function within the digestive system.
Three main cell types make up the intestinal epithelium, the absorptive epithelial cells (enterocytes), goblet cells and Paneth cells.
Store the products as follows if not indicated otherwise on the product label.
Basal Medium at 4 to 8°C
Supplement Mix at -18 to -20°C
Complete Medium at 4 to 8°C
Please see the product label for the expiry date of your product.
Prepare the complete Medium before use:
- Thaw Supplement Mix at ambient temperature.
- Add 30ml Supplement Mix to 500ml Basal Medium to obtain the complete Medium.
To prepare smaller volumes of complete Medium, aliquot Supplements and store at -20°C. For example, aliquot 5×6ml and then add 6ml Supplements to 100ml Basal Medium.

No, none of our standard media for our immortalized cells contains prophylactic antibiotics. You can supplement the medium with any standard cell culture antibiotic if you wish.
No, although we usually ship the Supplement Mix frozen and we recommend storage at -18 to -20°C , it may arrive thawed from transport. This does not affect the quality of the product. However, please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Aliquot the Supplement Mix
